The SKS combines the simplicity of a jaw coupling with the robustness of a conical expansion sleeve.
The conical expansion sleeve distributes the clamping pressure over the entire hub length. Transmission capacity superior to an equivalent keyed hub — useful on high-torque transmissions.
No keyway = no mechanical stress concentration in the shaft. The fatigue resistance of the shaft is preserved, its service life extended.
Sleeve removal is by unscrewing — no hydraulic press or puller needed, unlike pressed or tightly keyed hubs.

The SKS expandable-hub elastic coupling uses a conical expansion sleeve to lock the hub on the shaft. Clamping is done by radial friction, without a key, over the entire hub length.
This system offers several advantages: torque transmission capacity superior to an equivalent keyed hub, preservation of the mechanical strength of the shaft (no stress concentration from a keyway), improved angular precision (no keyway backlash), and removal by simply unscrewing without requiring a hydraulic press.
The SKS is particularly suited to high-torque transmissions on smooth or non-keyable hardened shafts, as well as applications where shaft service life is critical.
